partydave Posted November 19, 2015 Posted November 19, 2015 Different pedals use different style cleats. Theoretically, you should be able to use road shoes on a MTB, but would you really want to walk on a trail with those hard, flat soles?

m-squared Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 A word of warning, Look and Shimano road cleats look similar to newbies. If you go for road cleats, make sure you get Look cleats with Look pedals or Shimano cleats with Shimano pedals.
Paulst12 Posted November 20, 2015 Posted November 20, 2015 Buy mtb shoes and use them for both bikes. Chances are you will uncleat and walk on a mtb ride and the sole is better suited for that, rather than destroying road shoes which when you walk on them usually make you look very uncoordinated!!
