eccc whippet Posted November 25, 2015 Author Posted November 25, 2015 After shopping around today...looking at all options in the 20 -26 k...it seems if i am prepared to take a 105 group set i can purchase any brand of carbon bike...trek...swift...giant...merida...you name it...some offer better wheels...i am assuming they all come with a lifetime warranty....i was told the trek does...i am the giant will.

R24k (this seems to be the best value for money and suits what i am looking for...hill climbing and speed...the only problem is i have to make a trip to jhb to look at it...and red is not my favourite colour) 2/ Bianchi B4P Sempre (shimano ultegra)...2013...R20k ( just up the road from me...and the bianchi blue just doesnt do it for me) if i choose to get a brand new bike with the frame warranty... I could choose just about any make of bike with 105 components...price ranging from R21 k - R26 some offer better wheel set than others...pity the tcr are such terrible colours...would have be leka to have the anthem and tcr in similar colours hanging on the wall in my office...silverback has blue in it.
Veebee Posted November 26, 2015 Posted November 26, 2015 nothing wrong with Merida. Look at the Scultura 4000/5000, good all round bike, comfortable for everyday use and good enough for racing. The 105 gruppo is good, the wheels not the best but you can look at upgrading at a later stage. Not sure about you, but I prefer buying new especially when spending this amount of cash. Another brand you can look at is Silverback. Check out the Space 2, they go for about R18-20k brand new with full 105. EZRider Posted November 27, 2015 Posted November 27, 2015 Bianchis must be celeste, it's like Ferrari red or Jaguar green.If you have the colour right you can put Shimano on. And MTB pedals. And even a flat bar. Here is mine:
