Hi Guys,

First time needing to fly with my bike, so.....

Recently bought a nice Evoc bike bag which I want to use to stick my large dual sus MTB in for a flight to use on the other side.

Wanted to know if theres any tips and specefics I need to take into account?

Let all pressure out of tyres? Empty Sealant? Or just keep tyres inflated low?

Cardboard inbetween brake pads?

Bubble wrap?

Make sure its all secure and hope it gets there perfectly fine?

Thanks in advance.

Bit lower pressure recommended but don't totally deflate . Put all loose bits into a smaller box . Turn pedals around (to inside) and cable tie to frame . It will get thrown around so a little wrap can only help .

well where are you flying too? Local or abroad?

Some countries don't like you bringing in dirty tyres with dried manure stuck to the tread.

IF going abroad, make sure you clean it well.

declare the bike on departure at home airport so SARS has record of it being your possession and not bought overseas

They do throw your bag around, but the Evo bags are good. Pack some extra clothes / jacket / bubble wrap in bag to stop it from moving around in the bag and get it plastic wrapped at the airport. They will be less likely to ask you to unpack your bag if wrapped in plastic.

No need to deflate tyres totally.
