Maxxis CrossMark LUST - crying/wet/bubble

Hi,

My Maxxis CrossMark LUST is wet all over the last week month or so. Not just at certain places caused by punctures, but rather all round. Decided yesterday to replace it - saw a bubble.

There were a thread a while back and I cant find it again with the hub search. (The results returned by it always seems random to me  ) Can someone point me to the correct thread please? Just need to read up what was the cause.

thanks!

From what I can see, it looks like it is delamination from an ammonium based sealant that decays the internal laminating/vulcanizing of the tyre.

You risk the tire shredding further. I  have not tried popping the bubbles but i was always worried about the tire breaking further in a race so i changed it.

Gooi weg - koop nuwe een.

And change your sealant.

Jot it down to bad luck

I had it happen on Maxxis and Hutchinson's but haven't seen it recently

Just some delamination. Pop the bubbles, I have done that on mine and no problems to keep on riding.

Yup already bought a new tire and will replace. Reason is the sealant teardrops that is the pain - already had a situation with a puncture with nothing left to seal it.

Only notice the delamination when I placed the bike on the stand. (The crying is in progress for weeks now) There are really hundreds of small bubbles, almost every sq cm - to many to pop.

I use Stans & Maxxis for years now on multiple bikes. No issues before. I write this off as a 'dud' tire and will stick to the combination for now.

Dump it and buy some rubber that actually grips.
