Can this conversion be done on the 29er Anthem X1 2014? Running Wide Lightnings with the QR setup, which I take it will also need to be converted with some sort of kit

Hi guys, I've got a 2015 Giant Trance 2. Is it possible to convert to rear through axle with the stock Giant Tracker Sport rear hub? I've called around and have been told by some its just different inserts on the hub whilst others say the hubs are not compatible?

More than likely the parts will not be available to do this. So you will need a new rear hub.

Cheap option would be a Novatec, otherwise your wallet would have the final say.

I know Wayne at Rapide does a good hub for a reasonable price.

Trawl the classifieds, I bought a complete 26inch wheelset and scavenged the hubs. Ended up costing me R100 for a SLX front and Superstar evo rear.

Reviving a thread here.

Ā

Just did this on my trance, ended up using the shimano axle mentioned on the first page. Wanted the giant / dt Swiss axle, but the shimano one does the job.

Ā

It was 800 bux from mike's bikes.
