XTR M9000 Shifter&RD with SRAM XX1/X01/X1 casette (1x11 setup)

Hi,

 

I've read many bike forums where guys run XTR M9000 shifter & RD with a SRAM xx1/x01/X1 (10/42) casette. (Yes I know you need an XD driver free-hub body)

 

The consensuson these forums are that it work (for most respondents). There are however a couple of people having different results and it seams to be related to different chains. I.e. Most people with good results seam to run SRAM chain where-as it seams that a shamano chain doesn't give good results. One person with KMC SL chain also has less desirable shifting.

 

Question: is anybody running this mixed drivetrain and if so, which chain and what is your experience thus far?

 

I'm coming from full XTR and XTR/XT perspective - on which shifting is super crisp.

Not on my Mtb but roadside 11 speed I had the same experience. SRAM cassette with Shimano group and chain. I could never get the shifting perfect. Eventually went to a Shimano cassette and the problem was solved.

No problem. Only issue may be chainline related, when you back pedal. But then you can rectify that with some spacers at the front, and it's not related to which chain you have, IMO

I run that set up and have used an XTR chain and a KMC now with no issues at all.
