Spoke101 Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 I am sure that I read an article a while ago about either a phone app or other device that uses a "G" meter to recognize a crash and send out your location to who ever you add to the contacts list.
cfcjim Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 There are a few apps that use the accelerometer in your phone to detect a crash but they're not very good. Recognising the difference between dropping your phone and crashing with your phone in a holder or in your pocket is not easy. So a separate device similar to other wearable tech (Fitbit?) would probably have an available market.
BarHugger Posted January 21, 2016 Posted January 21, 2016 One needs to determine what is the common denominator among all crashes......almost like a forensic CSI analysis. Just from reading about some Hubbers' experiences a common event can be identified. Might just be difficult convincing cyclist to wear a hydrostatic-aeromatic-pressure sensor in their broeks.
