Choosing mountain bike shoes

Spez do have an entry level- Sport- they are graet shoes and will last forever, do have mine for 5 yrs and they are convenient when walking are required, like W2W, but not Carbon

+1 for Sidi. The only shoe that I would go to from here would be D2 Custom (if I could afford them)

Spez only found at a Spez Cyclery. Search on google. They are around as much as there are PnP outlets . . .

I will definitely try on before buying, I'm just looking at prices online. I'm on a tight budget so looking for the best deal.

Buying shoes online is a risky business - getting the size perfect is unlikely - rather go in to a spez store and fit them there.

What he said.Makes no difference which shoes you buy, they must fit properly. If you have a hint of ADD in you, it'll cost you in performance for the life of those ill-fitting shoes.

Found a Specialized store here in Stellenbosch, so I'll be going there tomorrow to have a look at what they have. I also found a pair of Shimano shoes (http://www.shimano-lifestylegear.com/gl/fw/products/offroad/021sh_xc31.php?pSccontentsPro). They cost around the same as the LG Terra's, so I will go and see how they fit as well.

I took a look at the Sidi's, but they are a bit expensive.

Hi all

Just an update: I went with a pair of Specialized sport shoes, they cost the same as the others I mentioned and where by far the most comfortable.

 

I'd like to thank all of you for your input.

Now I just have to get used to being clipped in.
