Hi guys

I'm totally new to cycling, and thinking of buying a bike.

Would you guys recommend a secondhand Raleigh Tri 6000? Or should I rather just get an entry level new bike?

I can get the Raleigh for R3000, but I haven't heard good things about Raleigh.

Advice?

Like I said, I'm new to this, so I don't know what to look for.

It's a Raleigh Triathlon bike. Aluminium frame, 44, Scott wheels, Shimano gears. That's as much as I know. It looks like it's in a good condition.

If you are wanting it specifically for Triathalons, it would be an OK purchase. If it is going to serve as a normal bike, then stay away.

I'm a big Raleigh fan, but those particular bikes were, in my opinion, rubbish.

There is nothing wrong with the pre-2011 Raleighs. They were made here and were brilliant bikes.

The newer ones are imported from the UK and for some reason they are only bringing in the cheapest of the cheap.
