Has anyone bought from obike.co.za recently? How is the aftersales service? Are there bike shops that sell end of range bikes.

As far as I know the sale goes through your local bike shop so the same after sales service would apply. I have always had good service from Omnico through my local bike shop.

Basically, you order the bike on obike with no payment. They then contact you and ask which bike shop you would like it delivered to. You then go to the bike shop to pay and collect the bike. I've bought a couple of bikes this way and I haven't had any hassles.

 

If you buy one of their 'Make us an offer' bikes, you can get them to knock off quite a chunk. Last year my girlfriend offered R14k for a R19k carbon GT Zaskar 29'er and it was accepted.
