I'm not exactly shore about it,but didnt Raceface do a 3×crank with oval rings at one stage?If so wouldnt this be a better option as apose to two narrow-wide oval rings and using youre finger as a shifter?

 

Edit:Checked my facts and the rings were indeed Rotor Q-Rings and were in fact fitted to a Aerozine X12 crank.

I don't really see the point.

 

A dingle speed is an option for ss with a tensioner but you don't even see that often.

 

Also interesting to see every one gooing around ratios, do we assume everyone is 29er?

I would assume they ran NW for chain retention on the timed stages. Obviously you cant shift off of a narrownwide

 

This is the reason I have mine on. That and the fact I only have a 36 at the back

 

That will may change soon as I now have an extender. but for the sake of a couple of grams, it's not worth  taking the crank off

exactly a granny weighs mere grams so have it there for a backup
