You'd need to buy 1 1/2 headsets, but it can work. Giant Overdrive for the top piece, and an EC44 for the bottom.

So you are saying that a Zula with a straight steerer can be fitted with a tapered 1.5 to 1 1/8 or OD 2 fork? 

 

Can this be done to other frames as well or is the Zula head tube special in that regard?

Anything with a 44mm head tube can be converted, you just need an external (EC44/40) lower assembly instead of the zero stack / semi integrated (ZS44) type.

if you have a 44mm internal dia lower to the headtube you can run a taper steerer fork with the EC44 lower headset configuration
