C - 50km

Still contemplating if I need to swop to 32T or keep the 36T on 11/42...

There are a lot of short steep unexpected climbs. I would stay with 32t but that me. I am riding with 32t oval with 11/36.

Good luck to everyone racing tomorrow! To all the 30km riders, be sure to be early, rumour has it that the start times will be made earlier last minute as they seem to have a habit of doing that lately!

Don't know if this race is worth the effort - if they can't even get a route map out for ZAR195...

It's Spectrum Sport. They useless!!! As soon as I see Spectrum is the organizers then I just don't enter the event.

Can't say it USN fault as they only the title sponsor

Going to disagree with you a bit. USN is the title sponsor... And them allowing the events to be run like they are run is a very very poor reflection on them. If they cant even arrange a decent organiser or event then they should stick to other sports and stay out of the mtb scene coz currently their lack of action proves it is all about profit for them and they dont care about the sport...and in turn, that makes me question their products.

But that is my 2c.

I found the race organization, including "punctuality" of gate/start times, the marking and the batching worked very well, so while others have had different experiences, I was quite happy with USN's water point and finish drinks, as well as Spectrum Sports website that had the times up yesterday afternoon already. I would've liked a goodie bag full of USN's stuff to somehow make me feel better about my entrance fee, but that's not the end of the world. It was a tough day out, but still fun!

USN is the title sponsor not Spectrum.

I must agree with you. This was so far the best USN event I have been to in a long time!

Still in major shock that they actually kept to the program and didn't combine the batches!

In connection with the goody bag, I don't think you want that from USN. Sadly this is still their failing point... The stuff they gave out at the number collection was all past expiry and kinda gross. Not very good marketing for them.

But that aside, I loved the race... still smiling about it! The route was less technical than last year sadly but still fun!

Race was fun and organisation good.

Anyone know anything about the lady rider that collapsed on the 50km route? There were a bunch of guys helping when we got there but she was in and out of consciousness while waiting for the medic to arrive. Not much we could helped with so we pushed on.

Anyone have any news?
