[Event] Tour Durban

The only bad surface is on the M7 between the M4 and N2, that's probably about 7km of road. The rest is in good condition.

In terms of descending, the M19 just after Pinetown is going to be FAST, so he needs to be very alert here and just keep his cool.

Full directions on here...

and lastly, using your brakes down the M19 is no fun, just give it full gas

The one and only advantage of being a larger fella...some high speed downhills [emoji3][emoji3][emoji3]

The hills which will affect us heavier framed fellas [emoji12]...the M7 ...pinetown up to westville...climb up to umhloti...then the climb back up to umhlanga ...once past umhlanga its downhill all the way home [emoji3] so long as we dont get a busting SW.

Just a warning for everyone...the section before the hans dettman off ramp has a big gap between the concrete and tar big enough to swallow your tyre and rim...you dont want to get stuck in that section.

Has anyone received there start times for this event yet ?

I know I will be near the back as I don't have a road seeding but am keen to know .

To the guys who post updates on the route conditions and where you should be at certain points ,thanks. Have no idea of the route and am a tad nervous. Especially the downhills and with no knee or elbow guards on

on my last solo descent of M19, I got up to 78km with the new tar. It is super smooth now and is real fun. Was a bit dodge in the past with the bumps and some potholes.

Start times are on racetec, check your profile there.

The route will be marked, pointing out any hazards so there is no major concern.

Again, it's only about 10km of 105km that's not in great condition.

Dropped to CL probably for the poor times on the roadbike last year. Will see this year.

Just got my batch sms

BL starting 07h20

Same 3 years in a row.

Same here. We get older, technology gets better. The nett result is we have to perform so much better just to stay in the same place despite much better indexes??? Wicked sport we are involved in. I won't even bother contesting the seeding.... nnarrrgh. This is an end of season race and my K2C seeding in Sept will come from this years Argus. Just go have fun in this one. Nothing to lose.

Also BL. Seems like their seeding is a bit of a stuff up or they just don't have too many numbers to make up more groups.

My cuz who has only done the 65km Shova last year, has an index of +/- 155, starts just 2 groups behind in DL.

Ja it does seem a bit whacko.

Were does one see ones seeding by the way?

As far as I know the groups only go to EL. Last year only 1700 odd riders completed the 100k distance.

I'm EL. Wait for me till the down parts ok jimmy

That's just about perfect! It will give me a 15 minute head start so you should catch me at the top of the m19 and then we can shoot down there together!
