'Dale Posted March 13, 2016 Posted March 13, 2016 Last year we used 6-7 bottles on a 120km stage and we won it, so not really a very accurate statement that. If it's 40degrees you need more that 1.5L on a 4 hour ride!YipLet's not start discussing metabolism rate at intense or threshold levels in severe heatA bottle of hydration can go right through one Like, I just had downed a unit and, like 12 minutes later, I'm ready for another.
ASG Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 Further to our previous post race remarks, please note the following: After the timing and results issues we experienced at the Tour of Good Hope our race secretary has been engaging with RaceTec over the past week on timing and results for the 2017 edition. And the good news is that RaceTec are on board and have committed themselves to the 2017 event (thanks MarlonJ). They will create extra capacity for the 2017 Tour of Good Hope in the lead-up to the Cape Town Cycle Tour and assume the intricate task of timing the event for us. ASG accepts full responsibility and offer our unconditional apology for riders who were affected by incorrect results in the 2016 Tour. We remain committed to resolving all results queries, which have to be communicated with Grevile Ruddock on grevile@iafrica.com
mon-goose Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I haven't read all the detail but does seem like a lot of excuses. the argus and other big events have multiple groups with much bigger numbers and gets the timing pretty well done. The fact that there are multiple days is also irrelevant as you simply time each day properly and then add then up, quite simple in excel. Well done for getting racetec on board
