I punctured with about 12 to go , as we got to the lekker single track .

Cut the sidewall badly so new I had to put a tube in .

Opened my spares bottle .... no tyre levers .... EISH .

Managed to get the tyre off using my skewres .

Could'nt get my tube to fit ..... sweat running into my eyes didn't help .

Eventually check the tube .... F....!!!! I had a 26'er tube NOT a 29'er .

Thanks Jodi for giving me a tube and thanks to the Lab Rat ( Cycle lab guy ) who stopped and gave me tyre levers .

Eventually set off again only to lose my front axle ..... obviously didn't tighten it after using it as a tyre lever . Lucky I saw it , so took the escape route and cruised ( crawled more like it ) back to the barn .

DNF for me , but was loving the race until that point .

Awesome ride!! Really enjoyed the single track at the end. Great venue to have a few drinks after.

Sorry to hear about all the injuries and technical issues.

Just a quick question, is it possible for somebody in Batch E to finish in the top 50 of the 50km?

Saw a lot of tyre issues, which was surprising to me. I was on S-WORKS tyres and didn't have any issues. Home in 2:10, from E (literally the last guy to cross the starting line). Was a good and very very enjoyable race

Yes, I would assume so. They would have to have done a lot of overtaking though, but definitely possible.
