Garmin 520 training profiles missing

Hi All,

 

my Garmin did a update and since then all my training profiles have disappeared, being replaced by the original factory setup.

 

anyone else had this issue?

 

very frustrating, as with the buttons it take forever to personally customise profiles.

from my side it looks like the profiles are gone forever and that i will have to re-setup the entire device again.

 

 

 

second to this issue, at the end of my rides i usually hit upload to send the training file via my phone to garmin connect.

since the update this function no longer works.

i hit upload, it does its thing but nothing ever gets to garmin connect. (yes bluetooth is connected to my phone, and yes my phone has network signal)

i have to manually enter the file after the ride and then hit upload for this feature to work.

 

definitely a few bugs in the system? or maybe just my unit?

Check the garmin forums. There'll be advice on how to backup your settings before doing an upgrade. It's hit and miss as to whether it does a reset on upgrade.

 

You'll get better support with the bluetooth issues there too.

I have had  this happen to me before on one of mine - just restored the files from my backup - although it would have been easy to download them from garmin connect again - seeing as I created them there, rather than directly on the device - it's a lot easier for me to create them there and then put them on several head units.

where can you create profiles on Garmin Connect?

- this would make my day! as doing it on the device is a nightmare

log in to Garmin Connect

 

Click on the little man icon then settings

 

 

 

then the individual settings on the next screen (Personal Information, Training Zones)

 

 

 

make sure you sync your device again (ensure that the profile from GC can override the device settings

i'm looking to customise my data fields on garmin connect rather than on the device..

damn, thought so..

 

took close on 2 hours setting up the indoor trainer, Road and Mtb profiles to suite my needs.

having to do it again after each update is going to get really old really fast.

 

i'll head over to the garmin forum, see if they accept requests for new features.

ie being able to quickly setup training profile data field via garmin connect.

My bad - sorry - only ever done them on one and just copied the files to the others.
