Durbanville trail recommendations

Hubbers,

 

Looking to head to one of the Durbanville farms on Sunday for a ride.

 

Intermediate type routes with chicken runs for the hairy obstacles, my only real reference being the red and blue routes on Jonkershoek. 

 

Ive been to Meerendal and wanted to try out Hoogekraal. What about Bloemendal? And Contermans - too hairy for mere mortals?

 

3 hour ride max. Hit me with suggestions.

all the trails are friendly, just make 100% that you get your permits, there are marshals on duty.

Hoogekraal is good fun. All the tech bits can be ridden around or circumvented if you don't want to do them, but it's a good challenge. 

 

Then Conters is also great. Nice climb (if there is such a thing) and then down the blue route, back up at the bottom to Sneaky Corners or something and then down and around the dam and back up again. Makes for a longer loop.

 

Bear in mind that if you're not a Tygerberg Trails member, it's a separate day pass for each farm. Conters is I think R 50 and Hoogies is R 40. So I'd really actually recommend getting a membership as that's only R 600 or so, and you can then ride the green corridors and string all the trails together.
