Are you saying that this has not happened to you?

 

So I have this, but not as bad as yours.

 

What I go have however is a "watermark" or oil spot on my screen. It happened early into use and has faded slightly over time. Can't seem to get rid of it at all.

 

You need to look pretty closely on the photo, much easier to see on the actual watch.

 

Never followed up on it with Garmin though as I've been out of country.

I would follow up on that, it should be waterproof down to 100m so that should never happen.

 

On a side note, got my first scratch on the screen this weekend, small but enough to really piss me off, kinda like dropping your phone for the first time, its bound to happen but still sucks.

Yeah, I'll follow up when back in SA. The other side is if they need to replace the glass, then you potentially start introducing lots of nice new issues which affect function not only aesthetics. 

 

I'm really not sure how it happened.... drop of sweat that dried on the screen or something maybe? still should never have done that.

 

Edit: sweat mixed with sunscreen? Seems kinda silly for an outdoors activity watch to be allergic to sweat and sunscreen.

Assuming this is what they came back to you with, did they offer any way to fix it?
