imagedee Posted June 1, 2016 Share Is the seatpost 31.6 or 30.9? I thought that the original poster was joking about shimming a 31.6 seat post to a 30.9 frame.no joke. true story!
Martin PJ Posted June 1, 2016 Share no joke. true story! A shim is a metal tube that allows a lower diameter seat post to fit into a larger diameter frame. You would probably crack your frame if you forced the 31.6 into the 30.9. Apologies if I am stating the obvious.

Martin PJ Posted June 1, 2016 Share You are way too logical a person to survive on this here Bike Hub! I work in IT, I find when the user does not understand what you are saying you state all the obvious assumptions you have made about the problem. Normally find that one of them is incorrect. Eddy Gordo Posted June 1, 2016 Share I was at olympic earlier and they dont have any shims in stock. I decided to order off ebay at R30 for an aluminium shim. Now just for some patience. Martin PJ
