Rear shock performance

Advise required.

Not for the first time I have noticed that mu rear shock does not perform as it should during cold morning.

Ride a couple of bumps and shock will compress and not spring back. As temps rise during course of the ride the shock starts to come to life again. 

Question is should I be increasing the pressure in the shock during the colder months?

Adding more Pressure, probably not, but a service might be a good idea.

Something is not right in there. More pressure wont fix it because it will change the sag too. Service.

What shock is it?

How fast is the rebound set?

And what pressure do you have it at currently?

Also don't forget that the temperature will change the "thickness" of the oil and it won't go thru the ports as it should, this will be worse with older oil as it does become fractionally thicker with age...so as has been mentioned, a good service should sort it.

Service time... and see if whoever does it for you can tell you what oil was in there. It may have been rebuilt with the wrong stuff last time.
