DemiCat Posted June 17, 2016 Author Posted June 17, 2016 As a rule, wheelsize is independent of frame size and is rather driven by application. There are very small people on very small frames and 29" wheels and for decades big people rode big frames and 26" wheels. Make sure that the frame is the right size - at your size highly likely to be a small .
Red Robin Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 I cant really offer advice as I am a total newbie but just thought I could share what I did when I bought my bike 2 months ago. I am 1.78 tall and I bought a unisex bike rather than a ladies bike. They measured me for fit etc. but more importantly for me I also tested it to see if felt comfy.
lerouc Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 My wife is roughly the same height as you. She has had:Fuji 26er small frameTitan 650B small frameMerida 29er small frame If you ask her which one she liked/enjoyed the most (and was most comfortable), the Merida, by far. Edit. They are all male geometry bikes.
Thomo Posted June 17, 2016 Posted June 17, 2016 The male/female geometry in many cases comes down to colour scheme.Very few brands actually have a woman specific geometry.Establish what your geometry requirements are and gotnthe appropriate bike.Shouldn't matter whether it's pink or blue.
