Gen Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 I'm filled with envy. (any pics of you and Tommeke?)But i'll chill now. By now everyone should know that I can not stand Froome. Even if he crossed the line nonchalantly I'd still be pissed that he won the race. But seeing as he's winning everything (During GT's) I'll play nice. Go Froome, Go [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] [emoji23] Look at is this way.. last GT of the year so we won't be seeing too much of Froome until he starts his build up to next year's TDF. And we won't see him at the Giro.. And in between now and then ... well you know what awaits..the spring classics baby[emoji16]
Pah Bear Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Ahhh Cav. Envious of your new profile pic. Adorable. Heheheee .
Cav' Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Today's winner? Valverde, Frank, Fraile, Gilbert?

Gen Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 David Lopez and Peter Kennaugh (Sky), Darwin Atapuma (BMC), Louis Meintjes (Lampre - Merida) and Gianluca Brambilla (Etixx - Quick Step) lead the way in the downhill. Romain Hardy (Cofidis) is 11 seconds behind them and the peloton 11" further behind.
EmptyB Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Is it just me or are thses stages way more interestingly thought out than recent TDF years. Makes for better racing....but then, I've always preferred the Giro and Vuelta to the TDF!
Gen Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Is it just me or are thses stages way more interestingly thought out than recent TDF years. Makes for better racing....but then, I've always preferred the Giro and Vuelta to the TDF!Not just you.. But the TDF is also raced different.. although this year I found the TDF to be a lot better than the previous 4 years. But I agree with you I prefer the Giro and the Vuelta..
'Dale Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Seven riders have jumped clear and not one of them is Fraile. In the group is Kennaugh, Elissond, Atapuma, Lopez, Meintjes and Brambilla with Hardy chasing behind them.
'Dale Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 It looks like Hardy has caught those attackers and is now alone out front. He's got just 14 seconds on the peloton though.
'Dale Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 137km remaining from 193.2km The pace is not slacking and the riders are already at the bottom of the Alisas. It's still all very close together.
'Dale Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Hardy has been brought back again and is now with the peloton. We still have that other group of seven out front and they hold a 22-second lead on the peloton.
'Dale Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 The French rider hasn't given up just yet and he claws his way back to the front group bringing our leading group up to eight riders. They now have 35 seconds on the peloton.
EmptyB Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Not just you.. But the TDF is also raced different.. although this year I found the TDF to be a lot better than the previous 4 years. But I agree with you I prefer the Giro and the Vuelta..Plus the fans in France could definitely learn a thing or two about how to behave at these races. Fans at the Vuelta have been amazing (so far).
'Dale Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 Zubeldia and Wyss tried to bridge the gap but they are quickly brought back. Still just 35 seconds between the main peloton and the breakaway.
'Dale Posted September 1, 2016 Posted September 1, 2016 126km remaining from 193.2km The break's lead stands at 1:15, with Movistar setting the pace at the head of the peloton. Quintana's team doesn't want to give this move too much leeway.
