Giant Stance 2 2016, bike for me?

Hi everyone.

I am thinking of getting a better bike since I am currently riding a Hardtail (Schwinn Rocket 2 650b).  This bike I have ridden from November last year and it has served me well through all the newbie crashes and I think its time to move over to a soft tail.

I saw the new Giant Stance 2 2017 in the Giant shop at Durbanville and started thinking if this would be the bike for me. I want to do mostly Enduro type of riding and a bit of cross country.

So I started thinking, will the shock travel be enough? Will the geometry on this bike work for all the downhill bits of Enduro and also will the 2x9 setup be good enough? Will this bike even work for Enduro at all??

The perfect bike would be the Giant trance but unfortunately that's way out of my price class.

If you have any suggestions, please feel free to post.. Maybe there is a bike I should also consider?

Thanks and best regards

You might be better served with a second hand, longer travel 26er with good suspension and components vs the stance.....there are some good deals out there to be had

No idea what your budget is, but there's a Santa cruz bantam in the classifieds for just under R20k. It's a medium, and being a santa cruz, you'd have to be a hobbit (like me) to consider it. It's a trail bike, but very capable.
