Does any body know more about problems with MC farme?s cracking around the chain stay pivot weld and seat tube welds?

 <?: prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

There are also rumors about problems with the pull shock(leakage and lockout not working)? Sound like it is easy fixed though.

As anybody have problems with their carbon MC/RC frames?

if you bought it from the original owner, ask him to do the warrantee claim.

alternatively, if your lbs and you are in a very good relationship, they will most likely handle the claim 4 u, even if u didnt buy it from them or are the original owner

I've been riding my Genius RC Ltd for 2 years now and it's one of the sweetest bikes around.

Despite my exceeding the recommended weight limit by a good couple of kg's (no, I won't say how many), this bike has been an absolute dream.

I own a RC 20 which developed a crack at the seat tube - top tube junction. Scott replaced the frame with no questions asked.

I don't think there is a weight limit for the frame. I weigh 65kgs anyway!

Personally I don't think this is a big issue as I know of people who have cracked Giant, Spez, Cervelo and Orbea carbon frames.

The biggest problem with the MC/RC is the rear shock which doesn't really work that well.

Hey Ox_Wagon

I own a Genius MC20 (carbon) 2005 model which I bought 2nd hand.

Has a few chips and scratches, which one would expect from a MTB, but I haven't had a day's trouble with it.

I weigh 100Kgs and the only 'issue' I've had is a bit of squeak as the seat tube flexes in the frame when I'm putting some hoof into it on uphills.

Great bike, very happy.

hey Oxwagon,

I have a 2005  MC  which i have upgraded. I did break a  rear chain stay clean through on a ride once. Had it replaced and no problems since. I believe they do have problems with the rear stays breaking though although thank goodness it hasnt happened in 2 years and i ride a lot wilder now.

Having said that i didnt even service the rear shock for many years, until recently. I've never had major leaking problems with mine. I dump and repump air in on a regular basis and it works great. Very chuffed with the bike.
