If it really is unused and has been stored properly then it should be alright.

It's things like sun, sweat and skin acids that react with the impact foam over time and weaken it. This is why it's recommended to replace a helmet every 5 years.

It's been at a bike shop. Away from the sun. Has a few scratches and nicks from being a store helmet over the years.

 

Decided to leave it though, waiting for a price on a super 2R from cyclelab.

(Preparing anus for their price, but I got a 30% off voucher on a warranty claim on my current helmet that I decided to crash test, involuntarily)
