Giant Anthem seatpost clicking

Hi Hubbers.

I am wondering if I am the only one with this problem or are there others out there.

My seatpost will not stop creaking. Never ever!!

I have changed the clamp, the post, the seat. I had a small amount of grease on and I have had a lot of grease on it. I have tried everything. After the 5th ride it starts clicking again. It is a loud clicking noise and this has bugged me for close to a year now.

It is a 2015 model Anthem X.

Please give me advise or just spare a thought for me and the people I cycle with.

Regards

Stephan

Thanks, done that. I know it is the seatpost because when i take it out and grease it a bit its quite for 5 rides again.

Its like resetting to factory settings.

Have you considered that it could be the saddle or saddle rails? where they go into the saddle.

Mine creaks and cracks lika mofo and I have greased and lubed and etc and it keeps doing it or coming back.

If it is the seatpost it could be a bit of grit down the seat tube itself - have had that before too...

you may need to clean out the seat tube down past where your seatpost goes into.

then use a sticky grease that's waterproof - it wont wash out with washing. also make sure no water can get into the clamp area by applying enough grease to form a water and dust seal.

Buy a Scott... they don't ever creak :)

classic...  cracking me up...

But could be a suspension pivot... take out the seat post and seat clamp and try it for 50km if it still creaks (and you make it back) its a pivot...  :D

Seriously though - if you tried another seatpost it could be...
