Filling cable stops on a steel frame

Hi All.

I have got a cotic soul which i love to bits BUT they subscribe to the "Stupid Ass" idea of using cable stops.

Now I always run full length cable housing no matter what but this has lead to me having to tape the dropper and rear der. housing to the frame.

And now I am considering filing the gaps in the cable stops bigger so the housings can just be run through them (more aesthetically pleasing) .

The Frame is 2nd hand so the warranty is void anyway (But show me a cotic that has been broken :P ) My main concern is possibly rust around the areas the have been filed but that sounds unlikely to me.

I am using a file , I will not take a drill anywhere near my frame.

Any advice ?

Also if there are reasons not to do it please let me know.

I drilled my frame for stealth routing a while back and also had on of those cable stops that was causing me some issues. I just used a drill to drill out the hole wide enough to run the cable through and it worked well. I think a dremel tool will work better though as David mentioned above.
