Hi

Just some general conversation regarding the Great Trek beginning soon. Who is going? Did you train enough. What bike are you opting for?

Happy chatting

For us working guys, I would say ride as much as you can leading up to the event (3 month period)

This one is on my bucket list

I am training for Tankwa Trek - every weekend after W2W is then a must

In the week when you can - this is what I did for 2016 Tankwa, it worked well

Also, train at the times of your race - go out at race day start time and ride in the heat as well

Major bonking for those who don no train in the same conditions as the race

Thats my take

Hi, hi

Yup, doing it this year. Hope I've trained enough, hah. What's a good amount of hours per week?

It's going to be crazy, super amped.

I am logging a shameful 7-8 hours a week at the moment. Guess a lot depends on your base. Aiming for some decent long rides the next 2 weekends. Prepare the bum

Yup, riding for the 3rd time this year.

Feeling okay with the training. Would always like to be fitter, faster, thinner, richer etc.

It will be interesting to see the new route and how that goes. I am a little disappointed that we arent going over Swartberg or through the Kamanassie.

The Dryland guys always put on a good show so I am sure we will have fun.

I am surprised that they dont have a main sponsor.

The pioneer has been very low key this year, not a lot of chatter around.

Ill be there, struggled to get the hours I wanted in but it is what it is, 5 days to go!
