You are lucky someone summoned me to the thread, Here are the 420's at R200 rand cheaper than the Irwins and free shipping. We have 2 riders that roll on the 420's and are happy with them.

Hey guys

In the same boat but this is my dilemma

https://www.merlincycles.com/fulcrum-racing-3-wheelset-with-gp4000s-ii-tyres-tubes-86056.html

Shipping is 40pounds total comes to R6250 shipped, landed and taxed. This is with current exchange rate.

The tubes and tyres alone are about R2000 from Evo bikes

Whatcha guys think?

If it lands at R 6 250 then its a steal.

Turning out to be a money saving gold mine here!

thats a great price for the combo.

Just to throw it in, I have a set of Racing 3 for sale if you don't want to go through the process of importing.

Would you take the risk of shipping these in though?

Would that include GP4000s :P

for R6k yeah. used Racing 3's and GP4000s with about 300km on them. Can box them too and wait for your courier to collect ^_^

I know of plenty of people that have imported from Merlin and had very little surprise on arrival. That was for groupsets.

Im a little worried about backup "incase" something happens, thats whats worrying me. Ive had no problems with merlin before.

Local backup is always at the back of my mind

So mini thread hijack due to good priced wheels being posted.

Does aero really make much of a difference? I'm yet to ride using anything more than Mavic Aksium Elites. Hardly the lightest set of wheels (understandably, shops aren't too keen on letting people test drive wheelsets). If I were to get a set of the 420s, would I legitimately notice much of a difference, all else being the same?

My mate got the AC 40's carbon clincher, at 40km/h they roll a lot better than my light alu clinchers. Makes a difference, only reason he drops me  :whistling:
