My mate got the AC 40's carbon clincher, at 40km/h they roll a lot better than my light alu clinchers. Makes a difference, only reason he drops me

Get him to lend them to me and he can use my Aksiums. Should give you a fighting chance then

I imported from merlin last week some components, ordered on Wednesday and were delivered Friday morning by UPS.  No hassle at all !!

Theyre super fast i know, really cool thing about importing from them!

 

Last Q for everyone, comparing the fulcrum "cup n cone" setup to ceramic sealed bearings, whats the maintanance like?

 

Bearing(no pun intended) in mind the fulcrums cup n cone is not the same as the shimano system as the balls are not loose, theyre just not sealed by the looks of things.

 

So ja, sealed ceramic or "semi" cup n cone. Never mind the tyres and tubes

Im a little worried about backup "incase" something happens, thats whats worrying me. Ive had no problems with merlin before.

 

Local backup is always at the back of my mind

 

backup would be important. Although they are great wheels are really strong. Done about 8500km on mine with not an issue.

 

And I'm still on the original bearings which roll really smooth. Save the cash from the ceramics for something else on the bike.
