Moved to PE

Thanks, saw PE was hosting one but didn't know it was to replace Germiston's. Especially after last year recorded their highest ever entries. Thanks Standard Bank.

Glad i at least got the opportunity to do it once while it was up here.

What a sweet little event this is. Well organised, well priced and all round well run.

My race went ok, put on a bit of weight and with the heat it took its toll on the run which must be one of the toughest Olympic run leg I have ever done. Swim went well clocking 23 minutes something according to my watch, cycle was a lil windy but came in around 77 minutes including a lil lost time for a chain that came off and the run around 69 minutes. Was hoping for a2:45 but think I may have just crept in under 3 hours but results not out yet.

All in all a great event, well worth supporting.

Yea it was a tough day out there - manage a 30 min swim, 1;14 bike and also a 1:09 run to sneak in just under 3 hours, bit slower than I hoped for.

I wasn't too thrilled with the event - there was no mention before the race brief that they weren't providing hydration on the bike leg so luckily I had a spare bottle in transition I added to my bike briefly (i lost it on the second speed bump going down the hill and ended up running dry with 14km left on the bike). Only supplying water on the runs was pathetic when 32GI were one of the sponsors - supplying us with race hydration at the finish was too little too late for me as I had nothing left to draw on.

And to those that moaned about the Durban 70.3 shirts - you guys scored compared to the ones we all got!!!!

you right in that regard, we could of had a hydration station at each of the turnarounds on the bike. I carried a bottle of my own muti so this did not affect me at all. If the sun had been out and beating down it could of been ugly.

Water on the run course was fine I thought...that 32GI at the end gave me brain freeze of note haha.

the shirt seems ok... but I liked the Durban one ....a lot :)

I really liked the Durban one as well, but the shirts we got in 2014 were leagues ahead of this rubbish!

They just needed one water point at the 10km turn, would have kept everyone nicely hydrated, and they weren't playing round with making us do that damn hill twice. I guess they wanted to make sure it was the "toughest triathlon in Africa"

Was earlier than usual this year-so the heat didnt play such  a big  roll but that also meant I was undercooked, the last year in my age cat, recovering still from moering down at Durban 70.3 etc  and it showed.

Was surprised at the smell as we entered the water for the swim. The water temp was just right its always a nice swim and with the wave starts it was like swimming alone. Bike was a clear indication that numbers were down as there was a couple of lonely stretches. My armrest sheared at about 3km in and I had to ride upright the whole time. The run is never easy, Mates also moaned about the lack of 32GI on the run, didnt bother me as I run with  Gel and just use water to wash it down-it was cold so- happy.

On the conspracy theory side -saw some of the pro's/elites involved in the organising. Nico was being very Sterk at the swim start telling us he doesnt care who we are he will DQ us. Nothing like a bit of authority to regruk us insurbordinate triathletes. Corinne Berg was her usual niceness, she had a walky-talky so was involved. So here goes my theory: 11Global is on the demise hence the local involvement that stepped in to help -there are no other 11 Global races like they had in earlier years such as CA and the international ones as well as the Global X that got canned.I hope it will still be around next year. At the moment it is only an "11 Local".
