Hello all, I am staying in Green Point until Nov 23 or 26. I was hoping to go MTN biking with some people from the area. I have heard good things about Tokai Forest but beggers can't be choosers. I ride a lot where I'm from and just want to experience new trails.

I can rent a bike but would require transportation to the trail.

I'll try to check the form but my email is dschick14@gmail.com which I check often.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there ...Unfortunately Tokai trails are  still closed only reopening 31 dec....You can access the Deerpath table mountain trails from the top of  town .

try posting a request on face book "Table Mountain Bikers" there are groups of guys riding that side of the mountain daily.

Hi All,

i am planing to flight to CapeTown with my mountainbike 1.1.2017- 16.1.2017 and spend most of the time with on the MTB.

First of all is it safe (99% chance that nothing will happens) to ride on my own in Table Mountains, or Tokaj ?

I would really love to ride with the locals, anybody interested ?

Some other great spots where i can get from CT in max 6h with car/bus.

I am quite good up and down (3000uphill on day is ok for me, drops, jumps and 2 x Diamond DH trails are also ok).

Will be glad for every advice, maybe someone is planning some bike holidays during these time?

Cheers

Pawel

Welcome Pawel.

You should plan to ride Tokia and if you have a rental car definitely add a day trip to a place called Jonkershoek in Stellenbosch too! You can check out maps of these and other trails on the following website:

http://www.irideafrica.com/

You will probably find a few locals around who may want to join you on rides during that time! (Probably easier to post a new thread specifically calling a date and a place for a ride and asking a local to show you around, so that you get better response from the community!)
