After the controversy last weekend that saw some riders utilise the smoother side walks and bike paths to avoid riding on the cobbles, despite a clear directive by race officials that doing so would result in disqualification, organisers at the mid-week race Le Samyn took additional steps, placing barriers in the way to deter the racers.

Jis her world champs win was awesome.

And her team is pitching up with their strongest possible line up! Deignan, Guarnier and Van Der Breggen lining up alongside her for today's race!

Although it has been drizzling intermittently at the finish in Siena, the rain has held off over Montalcino thus far, though the skies over the men's race are darkening.

In the women's race, Stephens and Mackaij have dropped Vieceli, but the chasers aren't far behind as they enter the final 20 kilometres.
