They are Roval (DT Swiss) hubs - 24 hole front, 28 hole rear

Thats really odd for a mtb... you going to have to build two sets i reckon... get some kind of standard.

Yeah I guess that's Specialized for you - try keep everything in their own hen house...

Have decided to ditch the current wheelset and go Hope Pro 4 with 27.5 WTB scraper i45 with my current tyres. Will then get another 29er wheelset built when funds are replenished.

Finaly pulled the trigger on a wheelset. Went for an e-thirteen trs+ 29er wheelset. Trailwolf in Pta are building it for me. They have a 28mm internal width, which I think is nice and wide seeing as this is my long distance/pedaling wheelset. And the free bodybis stupid loud :D

I will be using the rotors and cassette from my current wheelset to keep costs down. Will just have to transfer them when I feel like using the 650b+ wheelset.

Also chat to the guys from South Industries. Their wheels are brilliant, made locally in RSA (Cpt) and less trouble should their be any warranty issues in the future. In my eyes they are the next ENVE..

I did actually chat to them and was on the top 5 list for me, but ended up going for the e-thirteen set because of the price I could get it for. I'm hoping for all the parts to arrive at my LBS next week so they can build the wheel before next weekend. Keen to take these puppies out for a spin!

So after a bit of a disappointing revelation that SA distributors just do not carry stock of anything out of the ordinary I have had one too many times, I have had to pull the plug on the TRS+ wheelset.

I ended up now ordering a set of Hope Pro 4 hubs from CRC which will be arriving this Friday (I hope). Trailwolf were able to supply me with a set of Spank Oozy Trail 345 29er rims with a 30mm internal diameter. The rims and hubs are black, so I am going to add a slight bit of colour with the spokes - 3 red ones on each wheel. Rubber is going to be taken care of by WTB with a 2.3 Weirwolf in the rear and a 2.3 Vigilante up front.

I really hope my wheels will be built by Tuesday next week at the latest.
