Chainring/Chainstay Clearance

I just fitted an AB oval chainring - 32t. When the larger part of the chainring comes past the chainstay there is only about 1mm of clearance between the chainring and chainstay. Do you guys think this is adequate? It is a carbon frame/alu rear triangle with boost spacing, so shouldn't be too much flex... Still, I don't want the chainring gouging into the chainstay.

That sounds fine to me , IF it ever touches the frame move it but if its not touching now leave it and go for a few rides.

Good to hear!

I realised now the shop gave me a 6mm offset ring, and for boost I actually need 3mm offset, so it did cost me a bit of clearance. But, the chainline is perfect!

I'll go for a few rides and see what it does, just can't return it then if it is a fail!

Having a great chainline will significantly reduce wear on your drive train so maybe it worked out for the better.

Happy trails sir.
