Johan A Marais Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Coming down from Hans se Kop, Grabouw on Saturday morning I lost my rear brakes (scary experience) within the 1st couple of turns. Brakes did came back close the bottom, but obviously i was going very slow and only using front brakes. I take this is due to over heating - but have to ask if it is normal, 2nd time that I experience this on my R1's, 1st time was in Tankwa. It is worrisome - what should I do - not do? Any guidance...
PhilipV Posted January 1, 2017 Posted January 1, 2017 Bleed the brakes. There is air somewhere in the system. Sommer check the pads as well if they have enough meat left. Oh, and don't drag your brakes. If you were squeezing them the whole time then it may be due to overheating, but it is not normal.
