If the latter, I'd suggest the new Anthem / Spark / Camber which have slightly more relaxed angles, longer travel and will be more comfortable over longer distances and technical terrain. If racing & competing and trying to be as fast as possible, then something like the ViPa / SpeedFox / Spark RC / Epic / Old Anthem would be a better bet. Also consider the Swift. No use getting a racer if you're not actually racing for position. IMO a camber / new anthem / spark would be more suited to marathon & multi day events than the uber short travel race only weapons would be. They're more capable overall. dracs Posted February 15, 2017 Share Pretty well, IMO. Giant frames are amongst the lightest. Their alu wizardry is fantastic. It's just the other components that let it down. Also - don't let weight be the sole decider of which bike to go for. Suspension performance, geometry and fit should be the highest priorities. Me rida my bicycle Posted February 15, 2017 Share I loved my Anthem's had a 2014 Anthem 1 2014 Anthem advanced and a 2015 Anthem 1. Also like the look of the Vipa but what put me off was the little tyre clearance at the back even with just a 2.2.
