Nothing new. old school disc wheels used the same idea. normal wheel with an aero cover glued on both sides.

To be honest I've never seen these before

 

Do you know of any place that can show test data for these? How they compare vs traditional discs and normal deep sections?

Its the business.

Can take it off if too windy/hilly
