Tubeless: Hopeless at this point

Always keep a few spare valve cores with your tools, take them out of your road tubes before disposing of them responsibly.

Great advice. I recently had an unexplained leak on the rear wheel. Topped up sealant, checked for big punctures in the tyre, sidewalls, etc. Turned out to be the little bit of rubber on the valve core that had been tightened too many times and wasn't sealing up. Replace the core, all good again.

internal , 35 external.

Ended up hot gluing the valve into the rim and seems to be holding. Will report back tomorrow morning

Will search for quality 30mm proper tubeless tape and redo everything and see what happens then

Abit late to the party here and too lazy to read the whole thread but.. Sounds like it was leaking around the valve hole. On my last tubeless set up after installing the valve into the rim, I sealed it off on the inside with a generous amount of black silicone sealant around the valve just to make sure. Just let that dry before installing the tire and sealant. Works a charm!

top-tip on road tubes is that you can slip pieces over your C02 bombs to stop the rattle in your saddle bag (or wherever) as well as not freezing your hands when using.
