European Gran Fondo

As something of a Euro Trip veteran (6 trips) And now that I've gone somewhat full roadie I'm thinking about doing a trip to Italy and attempting a Gran Fondo. The Maratona Dles Dolomites seems like a good one to do.

Are there any other Saffers out there that are keen to do a Euro trip in 2018 and attempting 4000+m of climbing in one day?

I've organized trips like this before and would be happy to do so for a group. Who's keen?

+- What does a trip like this cost?

40k?

A good euro riding trip will set you back 25-35k. That's for 8-12 days in moderate accommodation. Including flights. Yes. Cheaper than an entry to the epic.

The things that kill your budget are rental cars, restaurants and bars.

The unknown is the race entry.

The Maratona has a lottery style entry system. There are 4000 odd entries in the lottery. There are 4000 odd that are reserved for tour operators.

So we'd use the tour operator route to guarantee an entry.
