Cape Town Newlands Area Road routes

Will be staying in the Newlands area in the week prior to the Cape Cycle Tour. Can any Capetonians suggest some easy road routes that I can ride just to keep the legs moving prior to riding the Cape Cycletour on Sunday. Thanks.

The Newlands area is very suburban so you could cycle around the area. How far are you wanting to cycle?

Somewhere around 20Km and fairly easy with no hectic hills

You could go from newlands out to Kirstenbosch gardens side. If you are brave, you can either go towards Constantia or Hout Bay, but that is where is starts getting a bit hilly

The Newlands area is very suburban so you could cycle around the area. How far are you wanting to cycle?

Type in Constania Village in your GPS and head towards that, sneak over alphen Hill. Plenty of roads in that area that are very nice to ride on. Also have a look on strava.

As Pure Savage has said, there's a constant stream of people riding out a loop towards Kalk Bay and back in the easy weeks ahead of races, that go via Constantia Village, as it's mostly short rollers where there's any inclines.
