Carbon Rim Damage

Hi

 

My ENVE XC got damaged during a wheel rebuild. I am busy looking for a new rim, but in the mean while how serious do you thing it is? Is it still safe to use?

 

If I need to buy a new rim, what's is the direct replacement model in the new M series?

 

I appreciate the advice.

That's toast, In my opinion. Check out the enve website for the specs. May be worth going for the new HV range. If you want enve again, that is.

There are some good carbon repairers out there.

Not sure if the wheel will be as new again, but repair may be possible.

A local wheel-builder since departed to north of Hadrian's wall was proud of his ability to build wheels based on the ping of the plucked spoke rather than a tension gauge, and did the same to one of my wheels.

 

It is not structural and Cliff at Cycleart repaired it for me. The repair is visible, but the wheel works just fine as a training one.
