I use Metal

Pros:

Hard wearing

Can be cleaned after contamination

More of a ramp up up feel

Cons:

Less initial bite

Have seen resin pads for cheaper at some stores

Ummmm...aren't those essentially the same thing?   :P

no , once you pull resin pads they bite quite hard

metal pads bite more the more you pull .......its hard to pt into words  :D

Correct, in other words, less initial bite, more of a ramp up feel?  ;)

Lasts longer in wet conditions as well.

Resins will get destroyed in a matter of hours in muddy or wet conditions. If you plan on riding multi day events where the weather can be a factor and you could have a wet day or be in mud then only ride metal.

Bitter lessons learned with this mistake

What do you guys prefer to use for your disc pads metal or resin?

Sintered Front

Resin Rear

I seldom use my rear unless in a corner and I need to trail it a little to scrub off speed. Metal / Sintered in the front last a bit longer.

Generally I avoid brakes, they slow you down  :whistling:

Hahaha here in KZN lately the resin will get smashed in a matter of a couple of rides with all the rain.
