CTCT - changing to tandem entry

Got substitute entries for my wife and I for CTCT. But despite noting this on consent documents sent, we were seeded sepatately. She in 3F and I in 1A. Can I just fall back and start with her in 3F with a tandem? Or is there seeded specific tandem categories. I can only see a racing tandem category on website.

Not 100% sure but I think if you not good enough to make the racing tandems category, you start in the normal seeded groups. So yes, you will have to start in 3F (group of partner with lowest seeding)

Fall back and start in her group. You'll get individual results though and not in tandem cat.

I stand to be corrected on this, but I think the organisers normally take an average of the pilot/stoker seeding, link them as a tandem pair, and place them accordingly. Unless you made the racing tandem seeding/# group of approx. 35 tandems, which is unlikely at this late stage, you would be seeded into a category with single bikes. Every year they seem to tinker with the tandem groups .. apart from a bigger racing tandem group in the past, they used to have a social tandem group, then two social tandem groups and so on. I've done 5 CTCT's on tandem in various categories and this year we're in # for a change. One year we were seeded in B group as the only tandem, and we got thoroughly abused working on the front until Chappies. If you don't manage to come right with the linking and reseeding process then you would need to start in 3F, but first try through the organisers.
