They're 2 very different bikes. The LT is the long travel version of the original Shova or Shova ST (short travel). I might have my numbers out slightly but from what I remember.

Shova ST (Short travel) - 140mm rear travel

Mbuzi - 160mm rear travel

Shova LT (Long travel) - 180mm rear travel

Makulu - 200mm rear travel

give or take a few loose mm here and there but you get the idea.

The LT was touted as a freeride bike back in the day.

Intended for use with single crown 180mm forks.

Don't see those around anymore.

And no...modern 180mm super enduro's just aren't the same.

It was a dog to climb but it would get the job done after a few heart attacks.

If you didn't have a Makulu. Nothing stopped you from slapping on

a full 200mm dual crown and sledding it down only.

Now that I think about it.

I've seen more LT's with boxxers than totems.

Funny how life turns out.

So...its not really a case of which bike is better.

Its kinda like asking which is better between an orange and a naartjie.

It would boil down to intended purpose and personal preferance

Have to agree, depends on what you want to do with the bike.

If you wanna ride trails, enduro, someDH then the Mbuzi.

Mbuzi is basically a do it all bike.

Otherwise if you speaking strictly gravity then go for the longer travel Shova
