lechatnoir Posted April 12, 2017 Share I find for Cape Town all I need is a long sleeve jersey, base layer and a First Ascent Apple jacket. Get some decent winter gloves and decent booties for the early mornings. Oddly enough, the cold snap we had a few weeks ago made me colder than mid-winter mornings. Possibly because winter is humid and it doesn't FEEL as cold. My knees though... gotta get something for those aging joints.

If this morning is anything to go by, I think we in for a bitterly cold winter.Does Rule#5 apply to our Cape Town winters? If so, i'll be doing some shopping this weekend
thisismyotherbike Posted April 13, 2017 Share In the Joburg winter I find using the cheap Mr Price second skin knock-off mentioned earlier plus a thin Salomon windbreaker I can stuff in my pocket when I warm up totally adequate... I do however struggle a lot to keep my feet warm! After an hour or so I can't feel them. Thick socks don't seem to help much
