Virgin Wattbike calibration

Not used one, only saw them yesterday and took a closer inspection this morning.  From what have read from the webpage they have a magnetic brake (wattbike has wind and magnetic) .  Blurb says bikes are both BLE and Ant+

Curious to know if anyone tried one if they at a few VA's already.

Yes. That was my first introduction into power training. Bike was good enough. Only problem was your data could not be stored on a Garmin like speed, cadence etc (only HR) , but only through their app (and not HR either unless you had a Polar strap). And their ramp test (FTW or Functional Threshold Wattage) seemed somewhat optimistic.

The 2nd generation bikes do have BT, but VAs will hesitate to buy them so quickly after the 1st gen.

VA New Market probably has the gen 1, they promote a train by colour concept.

From what I understand you enter your FTP and it works out your zones and each zone is a different colour.

The Ant+ feature on the WattBike is an awesome feature - IMO

I also think that the software of the WattBike is excellent, the bike itself seems a bit flimsy but maybe it isn't made for a gym environment. Some of the WattBikes get seriously hammered at some of the gyms.

Wonder if there are any calibration issues on these.

Correct. The branch manager said that procurement of gen 2 bikes is not likely.

That's what this thread is actually about  :whistling:  :whistling:  :whistling:
