I had a few issues and work arounds like you have but like you close up found the areas towards the pivot kept getting chipped. In the end I just bought a lot of heli-tape, a scalpel and pretty much Macgyvered a bad version of a Invisiframe kit. Wish I had spend the Randella to be honest and just bought the kit in the first place from abroad and fitted it as it would have saved time and frustration. I also found when I took off the tube all the dust and grit that had got in at either end had sand papered my frame and made a mess on that part of the chain stay.

Yeah there was no additional damage under the old tube I removed. But there was some ingress under the integrated protector. But as you say...right at the rear axle pivit...chipping meh
