My only gripe with you tranny loving okes is that you spent ALL your money on bikes. Everybody knows you need to have a couch on which to put your new wheels on for a proper pic. Or are you just scared of your wives?????

what's that on your chainstay?

Version 1 prototype of my chainslap noise reduction device. Here is version 2.0 where I removed the integrated chainstay protector (they don't cover enough and look k@k when you have a little extra piece fore and aft).

So yeah v2.0 works a damn treat!

Gorgeous bike and then you use electrical tape to tape a tube to the frame. I don't get it.

I can't wait for packs to make a comebaxk.

Yeah was temporary solution when i was running a Maxxis tyre so needed a tube. Switched to a Schwalbe out back so tubes no longer necessary ;)

got close-up pics perhaps? been thinking of a better NRD as well. I'm liking what Loris vergier did to his bike. In terms of compound, was thinking of forming it from RTV rubber silicon.

Do you have an NRD or antichainslap on the inside of drive side seat stay?

Soz, did upload a pic, but was poor lighting. Will try get a day light one.

But basically some inntertube folded up, then held in place temporarily with insulation tape makes the bumps. You then do the standard innertube wrap over them to fix them in place and just make sure you have ample coverage over each bump. So far it's been rather quiet. V 1.0 worked well, but was very flexible, so was worried with the more rigid V2.0 that it wouldn't work as well, but it does.

I haven't put any bumps on the seatstay, the rubber there is just to stop chipping and doesn't seem to make much noise as far as I can tell.

Chaintamer?

Works good too, but then i would still have sat with an integrated guard, then two pieces of innertube on either end of it. So I wanted to remove the integrated on and at least make the whole thing uniform. And...I prefer to tinker when i can as opposed to off the shelf.

Why stop at the chainstatys? Just do the whole bike.

Came for the thread title, stayed for the bikes.

Um...because that'd be dumb and serve no function other than turning my frame into a Rough Rider condom.

I had a few issues and work arounds like you have but like you close up found the areas towards the pivot kept getting chipped. In the end I just bought a lot of heli-tape, a scalpel and pretty much Macgyvered a bad version of a Invisiframe kit. Wish I had spend the Randella to be honest and just bought the kit in the first place from abroad and fitted it as it would have saved time and frustration. I also found when I took off the tube all the dust and grit that had got in at either end had sand papered my frame and made a mess on that part of the chain stay.

Yeah there was no additional damage under the old tube I removed. But there was some ingress under the integrated protector. But as you say...right at the rear axle pivit...chipping :(  meh
